MAC Lipsticks: Creme Cup, Creme de la Femme, Hue, Pervette Swatches, Photos

There is nothing I like more than throwing my money in for MAC lipsticks. Bored? Get MAC lipstick. Celebrating? Get MAC lipstick. Another red, but more orange this time? Go to MAC. No matter what colour or look you're going for, MAC will have it.

A few months ago I went into MAC and got four more lippies in Creme Cup, Creme da la Femme, Hue, and Pervette. I really wanted to get just some nudes but I haven't heard a lot of people mentioning Creme de la Femme and Pervette so I swatched them and bought them home with me. I don't regret any of the four purchases.

Standard packaging in black cardboard box
Sleek, rounded bullet shape with subtle metallic silver microsparkles distributed throughout
Definitely my most worn of the bunch, Creme Cup is a pale milky pink nude
Creme de la Femme is a gorgeous unique colour, a dusty medium rose mauve
Hue, go-to nude. I like that it doesn't make me look malnourished...
A cool lilac with small particles of shimmer
Swatches: Creme Cup, Creme de la Femme, Hue, and Pervette

Fireflies

Hello ^-^ I unwilling got dragged out to watch Ted last night. I saw the trailer for it some time ago and thought it was pretty lame but the actual movie was pretty good, albeit with some really overused cliches and stereotypes and a lot of cultural references. I thought the teddy bear (before it became the Ted) was soo cute.
Afterwards as we sat on the balcony there were so many fireflies! I never see any in Toronto and being a city girl I thought they were awesome haha ~

Went to the library today to study~ became so sleepy at one moment I resorted to camwhore
Later I got bored waiting in the car..I really loved my makeup today using Naked Palette II, UD makes amazing eyeshadows

Toodles!

Shiseido Sunscreen Stick in Transparent: Review, Swatches, Photos

Hello again! This is the third and final Shiseido sunscreen that I will be showcasing and it is equally a favourite of mine! This little guy comes with me everywhere everyday in my makeup case and never fails me.
It looks like an oblong lip balm, but it's less waxier and more creamy, and much more opaque.
When this goes onto your skin, it will definitely leave a white cast. On my already fair skin, I think it looks natural still, but if you are NC25 and above, it may not look so good, so go to Beige.
A heavy swatch.

Today was a 'renovating' day. Putting up curtains and mirrors and all sorts of hard labour. Now I have a hugeo mirror where I can do my makeup properly ^-^

The general area..

I've also been doing a lot of cooking trying to conserve my money and health but eating in more.
Mussel buckwheat soup noodle from a few days ago
 Our dinner yesterday
Barley, lentil, and rice porridge
My favourite dish in the whole world, fried eggs and tomatoes with LOTS of sugar and smushy tomatoes~~!
Curry broccoli tossed with purple onions

Bye! Off to cook more food

Recent New Products

Here is where I am now, and all my beauty products that have hauled with me
F21 heart earrings, will go nice with a white dress
MAC brow set...
...in Beguile. The bristles of the wand are so thin and soft so the finish is natural and even.
My favourite brow pencil, Shu Uemura Hard Formula, seal brown. You can never overdo it with Hard Formula
Sharpened to signature naginata sword point
Bought this at the new Holika Holika store at Pmall. I never expected an asian market concealer to be so opaque. I've always used MAC concealers and this one is on-par. Covers faint freckles and scarring seamlessly and stays put. Thumbs up ^-^

An Update with Lots of Pictures

I feel it's been so long since I've written anything substantial my language has been dumbed down considerably, thus my neglect for this blog. I apologize to anyone of average intelligence reading this...

I've been MIA because I went to China for a few weeks, and then I did a little temporary move to a city 4 hours from Toronto for a summer course. I no longer have my beloved light box with me as it was too delicate and bulky to transport, and so now I have a makeshift makeup station (named the Bookcase) and a photography corner (aka the Kitchen Table).

Here's some of my favourite pictures from China:

Toronto Pearson International Airport on departure day...so gloomy
Stayed in Shanghai for a few days during 'gao kao', all the kids and parents were so stressed!!
Beautiful, clean, tree-lined street in my hometown of Yantai. Below are all Yantai
Hi-rises and pedestrian walkway beside the ocean.
The beach at dusk
The garden at my grandmother's retirement home. Isn't it gorgeous? They have a peacock, some dogs, and bunnies in there as well. So cute~

That's all for this post, blogger is hating me today...

Prettia Bubble Dye in Natural Ash (New Packaging): Before and After

It's really been years since I last dyed my hair. It was in high school and I remember using the L'oreal one with highlights in Mahogany Brown. It turned out very uneven, brassy, and orange. I shudder to this day thinking about that experience. Of course, it turned me off my dying my hair forever, or so I thought.

It has been many years since that incident and I've done everything from bangs to perms, what else could I do with my boring hair that I'm trying to grow out?

I went and picked up a box of Prettia hair dye in the new packaging for $17CAD. I really loved it. The colour was so even and my hair didn't feel extremely damaged after. I really take a lot of effort in keeping my hair as healthy as possible. When I was in the shower, I did feel my hair felt rougher and thicker, but definitely not straw-like. So I skipped the shampoo and slapped on loads of Tsubaki treatment. After I used half of the provided leave-in conditioner, which smells soo girly and nice and works well to keep my hair soft and smooth. When a lot of people say this particular hair dry made their hair feel healthier, it's probably the leave-in conditioner working its' magic. I wonder if Liese can sell it separately?

Before, with half my head in sunlight and other half indoor light. Virgin black hair. Many hairstylists have told me I have warm undertones to my hair (reddish, warm yellow) so I opted for an ash colour to prevent brassiness.
After. I'm not sure if the colour is like the box, I threw the box away and can't remember. I'm sure it is warmer than what's supposed to be because of the natural super warm undertones of my hair.
Here's a picture in a different lighting in daylight after 2 washes. It looks yellowy and cooler.

I didn't get a lot of bubbles once I rubbed it into my hair but kept massaging everywhere, I think that's key. It was hard to avoid tangles though. Overall, Prettia has given me courage to dye my hair again in the future ~~!

A Carefree Summer Pink: Chanel Glossimer in Bagatelle Review and Photos

How's everyone's 'Summer' going?? Well, there isn't much of a summer here in Toronto with the 16 degree thunderstorms. Let's brighten up with a bright lip gloss from Chanel in Bagatelle!
Comes in standard, classic Chanel Glossimer packaging, a weighty tube with gold band. The reason why Chanel Glossimers are so popular is in my opinion due to the beautiful texture of the gloss! It not only feels nice and light on the lips (with better staying power than other glosses) it looks gorgeous on the lips.
This particular color is a warm yellow pink with gold and white microglitter. Definitely take a look in the sun when this is on your lips as it gives a dimension to your lips like no other! It's just glossy enough without being teenybopper shiny and adds just enough color over your natural lip color.
Although you can easily find dupes of this color from many other brands, Chanel Glossimers win when it comes to a nice, no frills lip gloss that's also luxurious to whip out AND feels good and stays on.

Sunscreen AND a powder: Iope Sun Pact Review, Photos

No suspense here: this product is a miracle! I only feature products I like enough to use in my weekly rotation but a product hasn't come around and wowed me in a long time quite like this one!
The Iope Sun Cream Pact is SPF50 PA+++ and costs around $50 at the Amore stores and only comes in one color, which is not a big problem as this is very sheer.
It comes with a refill and a replacement puff (the puff is soo nice) so the $50 is really worth it.
The pact itself is in a refreshing light blue and metallic silver. It's sturdy feeling enough without being heavy.
This is how it looks like opened up. The puff is has more of a rubbery texture to it rather than a textile or cotton one, and I find it picks up just the right amount of product. It also won't turn dirty looking too quickly!
The sponge is also separated from the actual product which is very hygienic. As you can see, the product is swirled together.
Here's a closeup of it. In terms of application, it applies smoothly and no matter how many layers I put on it never looks cakey. I'm kind of paranoid when it comes to sun protection and never feel like I've put on an adequate amount, so I'm always layering it on. Usually in the summer, touch ups can be such a pain with the whole blotting paper/powder/sunscreen ordeal, but with this powder I can just slap it on and go.

Totally worth it and every girl should have one of these things in their makeup bag!!!
